Catching Fire :: Katniss Cowl Patterns

I’m a total bibliophile. And young adult fantasy/sci-fi is my fav. Has been since before Harry left Hogwarts.

Naturally, I read Hunger Games and DEVOURED Catching Fire when it was first released. It’s my fav book of the trilogy, so I was one of the first in line (okay fifth in line thanks to my friend Jer) to see the movie Thursday night. And I *might* have gone again to see it Sunday.

And like most knitters and hookers (you crazy crochet kids, you), I lusted after Katniss’s knitwear which was made by a crochet artist who doesn’t believe in patterns (fie!). I’m particularly in love with the cowl she wears in the opening sequence. So I did some digging and found several great patterns for DIY versions. Thank you, internet!

Clockwise from Upper Left 1 :: Lion Brand Yarn’s District 12 Cowl Wrap Knitting Pattern. 2 :: Katniss Cowl Vest Knitting Pattern ($5.50 from Anaid Designs on Etsy). 3 :: Lion Brand Yarn’s District 12 Wrap Crochet Pattern. 4 :: The Katniss Cowl by LollyKnits on Ravelry.

Which one will you choose? (It’s kinda like picking between Peeta and Gale, isn’t it?!?)

Whatever your choice, enjoy, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Amazing blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost
on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there
that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot!
